About the Sierra AIDS Walk: The Sierra AIDS Walk is a family event with a beautiful walk in the redwood forest to raise awareness of and funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS and to support those living with chronic illness. Funds also go to preventing HIV/AIDS transmission through community outreach and education. You can help make this year's walk for AIDS a success: Form a team with family members, friends, co-workers or church members. You can contact them in person, through email or through Facebook or other social media. Set a goal to raise....$100..$200...$500 or more. This year your friends and family can join your team online and make their donations online. If you prefer to obtain pledges with a paper form, please call us or email us, and we will send it to you. Our office is open Monday - Thursday from 8 am to 6 pm. Call 209 736-6792 or email nancy@sierrahope.org. On the day of the walk, bring your donor checks made out to Sierra HOPE (or cash) with the completed form. September 21, 2019 9:00 - 11:00 am: Check-in Start times are flexible. You can choose your trail and walk at your own pace! Dogs are welcome in the park on a leash, but dogs are not allowed on the designated trails or in the woods in general. The walk goes on, rain or shine. Lunch: Sierra HOPE will provide a picnic lunch consisting of a sandwich, chips and water or soft-drinks to all walk participants. Lunch will be served from 11:30 am to 2:00 PM in the check-in/picnic area. Sack lunches will be available during check-in if you are planning to take the South Grove trail and would like to take it with you. Extra water will be available. Create your Page: Once you complete your individual registration, you can log back in and create your personal fundraising page, give a statement about why you think this is important, and add pictures. You can also email your friends, or message them or post on Facebook and give them your web page so they can sign up for your team. Be a Virtual Walker : If you can't make it to Big Trees State Park on September 16, you can be a virtual walker and establish a virtual team. The money you raise will be used locally for Sierra HOPE services. Our Fundraising Goal: 12% Goal $25,000.00 $3,116.00 Raised Purpose Sierra HOPE's Mission is to instill hope, foster knowledge, encourage sensitivity, and provide support in our community, for HIV/AIDS, other chronic diseases, and related social issues. Our specific purpose is the prevention of the spread of HIV, Hepatitis C, and other chronic and life threatening diseases, and to provide basic necessities and supportive services to those infected or affected, including their families and/or significant others.
